Natural Candles. What’s in your candle?

Updated: Nov 13, 2019

We're all hopefully trying to do our bit for a greener planet. As the evenings grow longer, lighting the fire, closing the curtains and lighting candles is the perfect way to enjoy an evening and relax.

Cosy in the Cotswolds
Time to get cosy

Try to make a simple change by avoiding candles which are made with paraffin. Many mass produced candles are made with paraffin wax (even some of the very expensive ones). Paraffin wax, or mineral wax as it's sometimes called, is a by product of the crude oil industry, made from a non renewable fossil fuel. Not only is it polluting it's not great to be creating indoor air pollution in our homes. Emissions from paraffin wax include benzene and toluene (known carcinogens to humans).

So make a simple switch to natural ingredients such as soy or beeswax. Soy wax is renewable and burns cleanly.

The aim at Cotswold Pure Botanicals is to pack the most delicious scents into each naturally scented candle.  Each candle is lovingly made by hand here in the great British countryside, looking out at the birds, meadow and wild flowers.

The result is a range of non toxic soy candles inspired by nature, countryside and the seasons that make you feel good when you light them.  Our candles are also vegan friendly and totally plant based. And, by the way you can also recycle your candles with us and get them refilled. Click here for more info on our candle refill service. https://www.cotswoldpure.com/candle-refill-service

Pure.  As candles should be.

Have a great Winter,
