10 Best things to do in the Cotswolds

Hello! If you have a weekend spare or a free day here is Cotswold Pure's top 10 best things to do in the Cotswolds this Summer.

1. Visit Cotswold Lavender

I did a drive by this week and it's not quite there yet, even though the cafe is open it looks like it will be ready in a couple of weeks, go this July if you can!!

Bit gloomy on this day, hopefully you will find sunshine

2. Pack a picnic

There are lots of places to throw your picnic blanket down. Have a little drive around and explore. One of my favourite places for a picnic is Broadway Tower.

3. Walk the Cotswold Way

102 miles of well trodden, well marked out pathway in beautiful countryside. The trail goes from Chipping Campden to Bath. You don't need to do it all in one go! Take your flask and a sandwich.

4. Sit in a pub garden

The options here are endless but great pubs include The Ebrington Arms, Ebrington, The Swan, Broadway and the Wild Rabbit, Kingham.

5. Enjoy an afternoon tea

My favourite place for afternoon tea when the sun shines is Buckland Manor, Gloucestershire. The gardens are beautiful and it's so peaceful...the food is exquisite too btw.

This was in the Winter, but Summer is lovely too

6. Visit Broadway Tower and its lovely cafes

There are a couple of cafes here now and plenty of walks and views to be had. It's the highest point in the area at 312m and on a good day you can spy 16 counties.

7. Go for brunch

Brunch at Tewkesbury Park, every Sunday 11-4. The buffet table just keeps on being replenished. Other good spots for breakfast include The Deli at Broadway and Temple Guiting Pantry which has the perfectly formed courtyard garden.

8. Fancy a festival

Check out The Big Feastival at Alex James' farm in the Cotswolds. It's on 23-25th August 2019. Food and entertainment.

9. See a play and get some culture!

A pop up Shakespearean theatre is coming to Blenheim Palace for summer 2019. Four of William Shakespeare's plays - Macbeth, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Richard III and Romeo & Juliet will be acted out.

10.Visit somewhere historical

There are lots of beautiful National Trust properties in the Cotswolds. Favourites include Hidcote, Snowshill and Chastleton House.

Well they are my top 10 things to do in the Cotswolds. If you have any ideas please let me know and I can add them to the list! I hope you have a wonderful Summer and you get the chance to come and visit the Cotswolds.

Warm wishes,
